Valencia man accused of fleeing into woods with dog after May rollover crash
A Valencia man fled with his dog through the woods from a rollover crash in May because he thought there was a warrant out for his arrest, Middlesex Township police said.
Michael Ray Hall, 40, was charged June 26 with two misdemeanor DUI counts and misdemeanor accident involving damage following the May 22 crash in the 600 block of Sandy Hill Road in Middlesex Township.
Police arrived to find a Ford vehicle flipped on its side with a bleeding woman in the passenger seat. She and multiple bystanders said the driver, later identified as Hall, fled the scene of the crash into the nearby woods carrying a black dog.
Police later found Hall and his dog on Donaldson Road walking toward Sandy Hill Road. Police said Hall was soaking wet head-to-toe and covered in small sticks and grass.
Hall told police he was coming from a bar and he ran because he thought he had an outstanding warrant, according to charging documents. Hall denied driving the vehicle, which contradicted his passenger and multiple witnesses.
Police said Hall also showed signs of impairment and had a blood alcohol content of 0.134%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
Hall’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. July 28 before District Judge Jack Ripper.
Middlesex Township, Adams Township and West Deer Township police investigated the incident.
