Mars man accused of assaulting woman, slashing her tires

A Mars man is accused of entering a home, assaulting a woman and slashing three of her vehicle’s tires in Adams Township.

Darnyll Lamarr Bishop, 39, was charged Wednesday, July 8, with felony criminal trespass and one misdemeanor count each of simple assault and criminal mischief following an incident Tuesday night.

Police said they were dispatched to the 200 block of Broadstone Drive for a disturbance. The woman at the scene told police Bishop entered the residence with a key despite being told not to return, threw her stuff on the ground, picked her up by her arm and neck and slammed her into a couch.

Police said Bishop then went outside, slashed three tires on the woman’s vehicle with a kitchen knife and left.

Two children in the residence witnessed the incident, police said.

Bishop’s preliminary hearing has yet to be scheduled.
