Jim Rocco resigns as North Catholic boys basketball coach after 5 seasons

After five seasons in charge, Jim Rocco has resigned as North Catholic’s boys basketball head coach, according to Pittsburgh media reports.
Rocco led the Trojans to 98 wins, two WPIAL title games and four trips to the state playoffs. They made it as far as the PIAA Class 4A semifinals two seasons ago, losing to Berks Catholic.
Last season, North Catholic shared the WPIAL Section 1-4A title with Butler County foe Knoch. The Trojans finished 21-7, falling in the PIAA Class 4A quarterfinals against Carver E&S.
Rocco previously coached at Penn-Trafford and Penn Hills. He could not be reached for comment.
