Dog warden checking for licenses in Adams, Mars and other Butler County communities
The Butler County Treasurer’s Office has been advised that the state Dog Law enforcement officer will begin concentrated enforcement in targeted areas of the county beginning in mid-June and continuing throughout July.
The PA Bureau of Dog Law Enforcement has identified specific Butler County dog owners who have not renewed their dog licenses for 2026. Over 260 dogs flagged in Butler, 240 in Adams Township and Mars, and 100 in Harmony and Zelienople will be part of the targeted canvass effort.
County Treasurer Diane Marburger urges everyone to get their dogs properly licensed before they are cited by the Dog Law Enforcement Officer. Fines are $500 per dog. Licenses are available online on the Butler County Treasurer’s website.
