Sentence Court

The following defendants were sentenced Thursday, April 25, by Common Pleas Court Judge Timothy McCune.

Mikeal L. Thomas, 45, of McKees Rocks, was sentenced to serve nine to 23 months in state prison followed by 60 months of probation including 12 months of house arrest, pay a $1,500 fine, and complete 40 hours of community service and litter pickup after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit theft and driving under the influence of a controlled substance, his second DUI offense, filed by state police following separate incidents in August and October in Worth and Washington townships.

Lawrence R. Sadowski, 40, of Ellwood City, was sentenced to serve 72 months of probation including 15 months of house arrest, pay a $1,000 fine, complete 40 hours of community service and litter pickup, and pay $4,574 in restitution to West Penn Power after pleading guilty to his third driving under the influence offense and recklessly endangering another person charges filed by Cranberry Township police following two incidents in February 2022.

Dennis M. Denardi, 62, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 12 months of probation and pay a $25 fine after pleading guilty to simple assault and disorderly conduct charges filed by Butler Township and Butler city police following incidents in April and May of 2021.

Hugh A. Pushko, 48, of Slippery Rock, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 12 months of house arrest, pay a $2,500 fine, and complete litter pickup and 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, his third DUI offense, filed by Slippery Rock police following an April 25, 2022, incident.

Dillyn Taylor, 32, of Slippery Rock was sentenced to serve six months of probation including 30 days of house arrest, pay a $500 fine, and complete litter pickup and 25 hours of community service after pleading guilty to her second DUI offense filed by state police following a Jan. 28, 2023, incident in Cherry Township.

Anthony E. Kelly, 26, of New Castle, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 105 days of house arrest, pay fines totaling $2,500, and complete litter pickup and 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, his second DUI offense, and driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol filed by state police following incidents in Butler city and Butler Township in 2022 and 2023.

David M. Maleychik, 61, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 15 to 30 months in the county prison but was paroled to serve 54 months of probation including 15 months of house arrest, pay a $2,500 fine, and complete litter pickup and 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to his third DUI offense filed by state police following a March 5, 2023, incident in Zelienople.

Donovan M. Philpot, 22, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 72 hours to six months in the county prison, serve 12 months of probation; pay a $1,200 in fines, $13,362 in restitution to Erie Insurance, and $500 in restitution to James Yurek; and complete litter pickup and 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, accidents involving damage, driving with a suspended license and unauthorized use of a vehicle filed by state police following a June 28 incident in Muddy Creek Township and a Nov. 26 incident in Center Township. He was released from the county prison.

Tyrone R. Hilliard, 34, of Butler, was sentenced to serve 84 months of probation including six months in prison followed by nine months of house arrest, pay fines totaling $3,500, and complete litter pickup and 50 hours of community service after pleading guilty to driving under the influence of a controlled substance, his third DUI offense, and driving with a suspended license filed by state police following a Nov. 22 incident in Center Township.

Luke J. Wharrey, 30, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six months of probation including 60 days of house arrest, pay a $750 fine, and complete litter pickup and 50 hours of community service after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by state police following a Nov. 3 incident in Clearfield Township.

Kristopher M. Steighner, 42, of West Sunbury, was sentenced to serve six months of probation and complete 25 hours of community service after pleading guilty to a possession of a controlled substance charge filed by Butler city police following a May 10 incident.

Jeffrey D. Monteleone, 55, of West Palmetto, Fla., was sentenced to serve 24 months of probation and pay $819 in restitution to a female victim and $176 to BP in Sarver after pleading guilty to retail theft and theft by deception charges filed by Saxonburg and Buffalo Township police following incidents in May 2020 and January 2021.

Steven B. Bargar, 55, of Gallon, Ohio, was sentenced to serve 60 months of probation including 105 days of house arrest, pay a $1,500 fine, and complete litter pickup and 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to his second DUI offense filed by state police following a July 2 incident in Cranberry Township.

Gregory D. Beer Jr., 29, of Butler, was sentenced to serve six months of probation including 14 days of house arrest, pay a $1,000 fine, and complete litter pickup and 40 hours of community service after pleading guilty to a DUI charge filed by Butler city police following a Jan. 1 incident.
