Kimberly Morris

Morris

Kimberly Sue Morris, of Connoquenessing, went to be with God on a beautiful spring day, Friday, May 3, 2024. She had been fighting several forms of cancer since July of 2021.

Kim was born in Butler to Edward and Lietha Krieger, both of whom preceded her in death, as did both of her sisters, Mary Lee Jones of Grove City and Virginia Hildebrand of Pittsburgh.

Kim taught language arts at Mars Middle School for over 20 years. During that time, she put a lot of love and effort into introducing dynamic curricular programs to her eighth-grade students, including Holocaust awareness, and once arranged for a Holocaust survivor to speak to the student body. Kim also enjoyed planning and developing the annual middle school talent show. She was often approached many years later by past talent show participants who thanked her, which she said made it all worth it. Kim also served as a building representative for the teachers union.

Kim had a deep faith and was a longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church on Sunset Drive in Butler. After moving to the Evans City area, she became a faithful member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church. She offered her time and talents in a variety of ways, including being a longtime member of the Dorcas Circle, singing with the choir, and serving on the Altar Guild.

Kim was a social person who loved spending time with her church family and friends playing board and card games, attending baseball games, concerts, going on adventures and going out to eat. Regardless of the activity, there was always lots of fun and laughter.

Kim is survived by her close niece, Laura Kapopoulos, with whom she shared a lifelong love of horses. She will be missed by many colleagues, friends and students, and one very, very proud husband of 21 years, Matt.
