Timko tax liens resolved
Issues over liens for $42,000 in unpaid taxes owed by a company Scott Timko formerly owned have been resolved.
The campaign team for Timko, who was the Republican candidate for the state’s 12th House District in the recent special election and is the nominee in the November general election, released a statement addressing the outstanding tax liens.
In the statement, Timko said he has since met all his obligations related to the business. Timko provided records to the Butler Eagle from the state Department of Revenue showing no outstanding obligation on the liens, effective as of Monday, Aug. 31.
“With the receipts that I had from the Pennsylvania Department of Revenue, I believed that I had met all of my obligations in connection to the small business I previously owned during the COVID era,” Timko said. “After reviewing the records with the department, there were additional obligations to address and I quickly resolved the discrepancy this week. All obligations have now been paid in full.”
Three liens had been filed against a limited liability company owned by Timko, GotGumbo, LLC: two from 2021 and one from January 2026.
Timko cited the challenges of operating a business during the pandemic in the statement, saying despite the hard work, he was “proud to be a job creator.”
Before the special election, Timko had disputed claims tax liens against the company were still in effect. He said the liens were a result of an “administrative error.”
Timko faced Democrat Brandon Dukes in the Aug. 18 special election to fill the seat for the final months of former Rep. Stephenie Scialabba’s term. Scialabba resigned from the 12th District seat earlier this year.
Dukes won the special election by a narrow margin — 50.19% to 49.61% — according the Butler County Bureau of Elections. The two candidates will face each other again in the November general election when they contend for a full term in the seat.
In the statement issued on the resolution of the liens, Timko listed his platform issues, including improving roads and infrastructure and supporting emergency responders.
“This campaign is about the issues that matter to families across the 12th District,” he said.
