Community day in Middlesex Township encourages community engagement
After a year gap, Middlesex Community Days returned to the township Saturday, July 25, bringing more than 30 local food trucks, vendors and artisans to the community park.
The event, organized by Middlesex Township resident Brandi Barkey, is meant to bring people together in the township and provide activity people can enjoy locally. Barkey said the later start time of this year’s Middlesex Community Day compared to 2024’s event was to encourage more attendees to stay through the fireworks. It went from 3:30 until 9 p.m. Saturday.
Community day was Barkey’s first time supervising an event of its scale, but she said she plans to get feedback from people who went to make next year’s Middlesex Community Day an even bigger crowd-pleaser.
Middlesex Community Day also boasted a raffle, face painting, balloon twister, foam party, bounce houses and a petting zoo, as well as live music throughout the day.
