Lancaster Twp. development Paige Place gets final approval

Despite concern from a Lancaster Township supervisor and residents at a Monday, May 17, meeting, a new 124-unit townhouse development was approved to be located along Perry Highway.

Supervisor Mike Doban said he worried about the safety of future residents of Paige Place because of the proposed development’s design. However, the other supervisors, Greg Kessler and Rich Marcotte, approved the final subdivision plan without Doban’s support.

“I personally feel it’s a safety issue,” Doban said.

The development is designed with only one entrance and exit, which he said could create traffic and emergency access concerns for residents.

Paige Place will be located along Perry Highway on a 35.44-acre parcel of land owned by Harold K. Wrigley.

Resident Connie Domhoff was concerned the board had not visited the development site recently.

Doban asked the developer’s attorney, Don Graham, for permission to walk through the area before approval, but the plan was approved without the concession.

“If there were an accident on that road, you could have 300 or 400 residents trapped,” said Doban.
