A Cranberry Township man has been charged after police said he sent sexually explicit messages to a member of a private pedophile-catching group who was posing as a 13-year-old online.

Eric Zachary Trylko, 32, was charged Wednesday, Sept. 23, with felony criminal attempt to receive child sexual abuse material and felony criminal use of communication facility.

Cranberry Township police said officers were called to a house on Glenbrook Drive in the township as a private group named Predator Poachers was attempting to confront Trylko.

A representative of the group told police they were posing as a 13-year-old on Telegram. The representative told police that on Sept. 14 they were contacted by a user called “Jax,” who was later identified as Trylko.

According to police, Trylko confirmed his age as 32 and sent pictures of himself to the representative. He described sexual acts and repeatedly asked the representative to take sexually explicit images or videos to send to him.

Police said Trylko’s messages also stated he previously received images and videos from at least three other children.

According to police, Trylko admitted during a Sept. 19 interview that he messaged the representative, whom he believed at the time to be a 13-year-old.

Trylko’s preliminary hearing has yet to be set before District Judge Kevin Flaherty.
