Lawrence County motorcyclist injured, charged in DUI crash
A Lawrence County motorcyclist is now charged with DUI in a Jackson Township crash that sent himself and another woman to hospitals last month.
Parker Lewis Lumley, 27, of Plain Grove Township, was charged Friday, Aug. 14, by Jackson Township police with two misdemeanor DUI counts following a July crash.
Police were dispatched on July 22 to a crash near the intersection of Little Creek Road and the Interstate 79 south on-ramp for a two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and Toyota Corolla.
Police found Lumley lying on his back on Little Creek Road around 90 feet from the point of impact with “obvious serious injuries” to his right leg and foot. He was flown by STAT MedEvac to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh.
Police also spoke with the Corolla driver who said she was attempting to make a left turn onto the I-79 on-ramp when she struck the motorcycle. The driver told police she had a green light.
That driver was taken by Harmony EMS to UPMC Passavant Hospital in Cranberry Township with head and neck pain. Neither vehicle was able to be driven from the scene.
The next day, police said Lumley had a blood alcohol content of 0.225%. around the time of the crash. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is 0.08%.
Lumley’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 2 before District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz.
