An investment from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will benefit Butler County school districts.

PennDOT announced a $1.1 million grant that will go toward helping 26 transportation providers across 19 counties train over 430 new school bus drivers, as well as commercial driver’s license training, trainee wages and testing and permit fees.

ABC Transit, Inc. will receive funds to help train new drivers in Butler and Allegheny counties. In Butler County, ABC Transit will receive $57,000, according to PennDOT.

The funds come from PennDOT’s School Bus Safety Grant Program.
