From practical tools and backyard essentials to hunting gear, fishing equipment and jewelry, these gift ideas offer something for a variety of interests and budgets.
First, if the father figure you are shopping for needs new tools, Mary Waggoner, who works for Ace Hardware in Butler Township, had some good ideas.
She said a blower, which costs between $50 and 150, is “super handy” because it can help with several tasks, such as blowing dirt or debris and taking down cobwebs.
Waggoner also recommended a Milwaukee PACKOUT rolling tool box to keep tools organized.
While some dads are interested in taking care of their home, others love to hunt and fish. Luckily, several Butler County businesses have the perfect gifts for the outdoorsmen.
For those looking for fishing gear, JR Rumburg at Rumburg True Value in Butler Township said fishing poles and tackle boxes make great Father’s Day gifts. These items can make budget-friendly gifts. A basic tackle box can be found online for about $5, while a basic fishing pole can be found for about $10.
Meanwhile, for those who love hunting, Brent McLafferty at Fenelton Firearms suggested getting them ammunition and firearms. Firearms generally start at $350, while boxes of ammunition are available for $17 and up. He also said gift cards were a popular option.

For those looking for something to do on Father’s Day, Keystone Shooting Range in Marshall Township, Allegheny County, is a great place to look because all fathers can shoot for free that day. In addition, all in-stock knives will be 20% off, she said.
For the yard and garden, Denise Watson, the assistant manager of Ace Hardware in Evans City, recommended a Stihl garden pruner or garden shears.
These tools cost $179 and $149 at Ace Evans City, respectively.
Many fathers like grilling, and Watson said grilling tools, which cost between $15 for a low end set and $100 for a high end set, would also make a great gift. If your father needs a new grill, Watson suggested an 18.25-inch Big Green Egg charcoal grill and smoker, which costs about $1,250.
Another outdoor item Watson suggested was a solo stove backyard fire pit. These fire pits range in cost from $199 to $499. She said a solo stove, which can also be used as a grill by purchasing a kit sold separately for $159, is “another wonderful outdoor summer evening” idea.
Some fathers like the finer things in life, such as jewelry. Steve Goslaw from Robert Stephens Custom Jewelers in Butler has some gift ideas that fit the bill.
Goslaw said watches are popular because they are relatively affordable pieces of jewelry. Watches start at “a couple hundred bucks,” according to Goslaw.
