PennDOT roadwork planned in coming weeks
Numerous PennDOT road improvement projects will take place across Butler County in the coming days and weeks, including:
• Between Monday, June 8 and Friday, July 10, high friction surface treatment will be applied to Route 268 in Karns City, between Karns City Area Junior/Senior High School and the Fairmont Road intersection. A single-lane restriction will be in place between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays while the work takes place. Work is weather-dependent.
• As part of the Franklin Road Corridor Safety Improvement Project in Cranberry Township, Mars Road will be closed between Jessica Drive and Franklin Road from 9 a.m. on June 17 through 3 p.m. on July 6. This will allow for full reconstruction of the section of road, including new drainage and pavement. In addition, paving will take place along Franklin Road from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. each night between Sunday, June 7, and Sunday, June 14.
• Gas line utility work along Ekastown Road in Clinton and Buffalo townships, originally scheduled to take place between June 1 and Oct. 1, has been rescheduled for between June 15 and Oct. 1. The work will take place between the Saxonburg Boulevard and Sarver Road intersections. Motorists should expect temporary lane closures and flagging throughout the project.
