American Legion Post 548 honored the nation’s fallen heroes Monday with a Memorial Day ceremony in Richland Township, Allegheny County.

Robert Haffly, post senior vice commander, served as emcee for the event, which featured welcome remarks by Commander Bob Schleiden and a poignant keynote address by Brigadier General Paul Hill.

Local leaders, including state Rep. Jeremy Shaffer, R-28th, and township manager Brian O'Malley, joined the community in attendance to pay their respects and reflect on the deep significance of the day.
