CRANBERRY TWP — At Thursday’s township meeting, the board of supervisors voted unanimously to pass the conditional use application for the planned 7 Brew location along Route 19 between the Barnes & Noble and Best Buy stores.

7 Brew is a drive-through coffee establishment with more than 600 locations nationwide, including 15 in Pennsylvania.

During the April 30 agenda preparation meeting, the board held a public hearing on the application. During the hearing, a disagreement emerged over whether the proposed 770-square-foot coffee shop qualifies as a drive-through restaurant or establishment.

Maureen Sweeney — a lawyer from Steptoe & Johnson, representing La Salle Plaza — gave testimony in which she claimed 7 Brew is a drive-through restaurant.

According to township ordinance, that would mean it does not meet requirements to be approved for conditional use.

However, Ron Henshaw, township director of planning and development services, insisted 7 Brew was a drive-through establishment and the planned property complies with all township requirements.

In other business, the board voted to pass a conditional use applications for D-Bat, a 21,000 square foot indoor baseball and softball facility, and North Pointe at Cranberry, a proposed shopping center development planned by Echo Realty.
