Callery man, 78, accused of possessing controlled substances

A Callery man is accused of having multiple controlled substances and more than $100,000 in his home.

Robert Girling Ryberg Jr., 76, was charged Saturday, May 2, by Butler County detectives with three felony counts of possession with intent to distribute controlled substances, felony firearm possession and three misdemeanor counts of drug paraphernalia possession.

Police executed a search warrant on a Center Street, Callery, residence on Saturday and allegedly found Ryberg with 11.3 ounces of cocaine, 2.2 pounds of psilocybin mushrooms, 13 pounds of marijuana, 52 THC edibles, 38 THC gummies, 23 THC vape cartridges, $67,155 in gold and precious metals, $43,098 cash and a loaded 9mm pistol. Police also said they found assorted paraphernalia related to the packaging and delivery of controlled substances.

Ryberg is being held in Butler County Prison on $100,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. May 13 before District Judge Amy Marcinkiewicz.
