Seneca Valley high schoolers win at state leadership conference
Four Seneca Valley students recently won awards at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America State Leadership Conference.
Students competed in job interviewing, career investigation, interior design and Pennsylvania Menu Planning March 23 to 25 at the Kalahari Resort in Pocono Manor.
The team also won awards for participation in national programs, including Families First, Student Body and Community Service; and it took first place in the poster contest.
Gold medals winners include senior Fletcher Boice and junior Jilly Kreke, who will go to the National FCCLA Competition in Washington, D.C., from July 6 to 10, where they will compete with medal winners from across the country.
Senior Leah Paxton also earned gold by placing first in her category, Pennsylvania Menu Planning. Sophomore Georgie Guzzo won a silver medal.
The club is led by Carrie Ehrenberger, family and consumer science teacher at the intermediate high school.
