Butler County Humane Society hosts ‘Bark-chelorette’ fundraiser
Butler County Humane Society is launching a “Bark-chelorette” fundraiser, the second installment in the popular “Bark-chelor” series, which debuted last February.
The first Bark-chelorette event will run from Sunday, Feb. 1, through Friday, Feb. 13, with the winner of the 2026 contest being revealed on Valentine’s Day during a private rose ceremony.
The humane society is inviting the community to ‘Donate a Rose’ to support one or more of the contestants. The contestant with the most roses will be crowned the 2026 Bark-chelorette, and celebrated with rose-shaped pupsicles. The big reveal will be shared in a special video on the shelter’s Facebook page.
People can cast their votes online or at the shelter, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew. Each vote, or “Rose,” requires a $5 donation. Voters may support a single contestant or spread their roses among multiple contestants.
The fundraiser provides support for the humane society, including medical treatment, vaccinations, spay/neuter procedures and daily care.
