New episodes: ‘Alter Eagle’ shares ‘Mother’s Memories,’ science of addiction

A new episode of the “Alter Eagle” podcast — featuring Laura Crago, podcast producer for the Butler Eagle — releases next week.

“Alter Eagle,” an original Butler Eagle podcast, will drop a special episode this Mother’s Day followed by the first episode of a two-part look at the science of addiction Monday, May 13.

The podcast currently features episodes exploring addiction and recovery in Butler County — as well as a four-part miniseries highlighting Butler County issues on Capitol Hill. New episodes release every Monday and are available at alter-eagle.com and major streaming platforms, such as Spotify and Apple Podcasts.

‘Mother’s Memories’

Available Sunday, May 12, the special episode “Mother’s Memories” will share firsthand accounts of motherhood in Butler County.

The episode features 12 local stories exploring the triumphs and trials of what it means to be a mother.

Science of addiction

Representing the Ellen O’Brien Gaiser Center in Butler, the podcast’s 17th episode features Dr. C. Thomas Brophy, center medical director, and Joe Mahoney, executive director.

Mahoney and Brophy will take an in-depth look at the neuroscience of addiction, recovery and mental health. The episode’s second part is scheduled to release the following week on May 20.
