The Butler County Farm Bureau and its Women’s Leadership Committee is hosting a free agriculture education event followed by a square dance Saturday, April 20, at the Butler Farm Show Grounds.

“Planting for the Future” will be from 4 to 8 p.m. followed by the square dance from 8 to 11 p.m. Saturday, April 20.

The event is aimed at helping families understand how food is produced and how farmers support the local food system. Demonstrations about drones and pine tree horticulture will be presented, and representatives from the Penn State Extension’s 4-H and Master Gardener programs will be on hand. A petting zoo, food trucks, horse-drawn wagon rides and other activities are planned. Sponsors are needed. Interested sponsors should call Linda Halstead at 724-272-5595.
