A woman in Cranberry Township arrived home Thursday, Sept. 24, to find a Jefferson Township man naked in her bed, according to charges filed Friday.

Cody J. Grupp, 33, waited while naked in the woman’s bed for about two hours until the woman returned to the Bucktail Drive home. Grupp was charged by Cranberry Township police with felony burglary and one misdemeanor count each of terroristic threats and simple assault after police said he also threatened the woman with a kitchen knife.

Police said Grupp parked his car away from the residence and walked to it while the homeowner and the woman weren’t there. He then damaged a locked window to get inside and waited for the woman to return.

Grupp was not to be in the residence due to an active Protection From Abuse order between him and the woman, police said.

Grupp remained in the home for just over an hour and a half. Police said at one point, Grupp told the woman he was going to kill her while holding a kitchen knife.

The woman told police Grupp also approached in her an aggressive manner several times, grabbed her shoulders and told her he would hurt her.

Grupp is being held in Butler County Prison on a $50,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Friday before District Judge Kevin Flaherty.
