Smokey Bones’ Cranberry Township location closed

The Smokey Bones location in Cranberry Township was suddenly shut down Tuesday, April 28. Varad Raigaonkar/Butler Eagle

On Tuesday morning, April 28, all operating locations of Smokey Bones Bar & Fire Grill were suddenly shut down, including the location in Cranberry Township, one of the last three locations in the Pittsburgh area following the closure of Smokey Bones in Robinson Township in January.

Employees at the Cranberry location Wednesday, April 29, declined to comment.

Twin Hospitality Group, a subsidiary of FAT Brands, owns the barbecue restaurant chain. In January, Twin Hospitality filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection to “strengthen capital structure” for Smokey Bones and Twin Peaks, its other popular chain which has more than 100 locations across the U.S.

At the time, the company had said in a news release that all remaining Smokey Bones locations will continue to operate.
