Maddox Grupp, of Cranberry Township Boy Scout Troop 403, achieved the rank of Eagle Scout on March 30, 2026.

For his Eagle Scout project, Maddox worked with Mike Manipole, a former Cranberry Township supervisor, on a local stream restoration project. The project entailed the planting of 40 Canaan fir trees along the banks of a newly restored stream located off Glen Eden Road in Cranberry Township.

The conservation project will create a stronger stream bed system. The evergreen trees will also help create a sustainable, natural habitat for animals and wildlife in the area.

In recognition of Maddox’s efforts in earning the rank, a formal court of honor will be held in May.

He is a senior at Seneca Valley Senior High School and plans to attend Penn State Schreyer Honors College in the fall to study biomedical engineering.

He is the son of Dave and Milan Grupp and the brother of Camden, all of Cranberry Township.
