With Easter just around the corner, Butler County has a host of egg hunts before, during and after Easter Sunday for children to take part in.

March 27: Alameda Park in Butler will host two separate Easter egg hunts. The “Adapted Easter Egg Hunt” will start at 5:30 p.m. along the park’s ADA-accessible walking trail. The cost of entry is $8 per child. This hunt is open to anyone between the ages of 1 and 18. Unlike other Easter egg hunts, this one is not separated into age groups.

The second, a “Scavenger Easter Egg Hunt,” starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Odd Fellows Gazebo. There are hunts for three age groups: an open-field hunt for ages 1 to 3, a scavenger hunt for ages 4 to 7 and a flashlight scavenger hunt for ages 8 to 10. The cost of entry is $10 per child.

March 27: Steele’s Brushes and Ceramics, on North Main Street in Center Township, is hosting a “Glow Easter Egg Hunt.” Children ages 4 to 9 will get their turn starting at 6 p.m., followed by children age 10 and older at 7 p.m.

March 28: Cranberry Township will host its “Hippity Hop Egg Hunt” at the Municipal Center starting at 6 p.m. Entry is free and no registration is required. While the event is designed for ages 10 and under, there is no strictly-enforced age limit. Participants can also get a photo with the Easter Bunny. A sensory-friendly egg hunt is also available.

March 28: Dutilh Church, on Dutilh Road in Cranberry Township, is hosting a “Flashlight Egg Hunt” starting at 6 p.m. The event is targeted mainly at children between preschool age and fourth grade. Flashlights and bags for egg collection will be provided.

March 28: Jackson Township is hosting a free Easter egg hunt at Sippel Reservoir Park, beginning at 3 p.m. Registration is not required, but is recommended, and the form is available online. The egg hunt is split into groups of ages 3 to 4, 5 to 7, 8 to 12 and a “sensory-friendly” hunt combined with ages 1 to 2. The event will go on rain or shine, and extended parking will be available at Northgate Plaza, if necessary.

March 29: The East Butler Baseball Association is hosting its fourth annual community Easter egg hunt starting at 2 p.m. at the East Butler Sports Complex on 10th Street. This hunt is divided into ages 5 and younger, ages 6 to 8 and ages 9 and older. Entry is free, and concessions will be available to purchase.

April 4: Zelienople is hosting an Easter egg hunt at its community park on East Beaver Street, beginning at 11 a.m. Participants will be split into ages 2 and younger, 3 to 4, 5 to 7 and 9 to 12. A special “sensory hunt,” new for this year’s event, will be held at 1 p.m. Registration for this event is not required. Participants can have their picture taken with the Easter Bunny and are also invited to take part in the sensory train display by the Model Train Club of Zelienople at Harmony Lodge #429.

April 4: The Herman Volunteer Fire Company is hosting an Easter egg hunt at its station on Herman Road in Summit Township starting at 10:30 a.m. Three separate hunts will be available for ages up to 3, 4 to 7 and 8 to 11. The organizers are requesting that attendees register in advance.

April 11: Cabot Crusaders is hosting its sixth annual Easter egg hunt at Winfield Township Community Park, starting at 11:45 a.m. Ages 2 and younger will get first crack starting at 11:45 a.m., followed by ages 3 to 5 at noon, 6 to 8 at 12:15 p.m. and 9 to 12 at 12:30 p.m. Parents and children can also sample the petting zoo, vehicles from visiting fire companies and numerous food trucks.
