Slippery Rock native killed in Beaver County double homicide

A woman killed in a Jan. 18 double homicide in Beaver County was a Slippery Rock Area High School graduate and co-owner of DeLucca Glass in Slippery Rock.

Ashley Anne DeLucca Walman, 38, of Ambridge, was killed in a shooting along with Andre Littles, 54, of Pittsburgh’s Carrick neighborhood, in a home on Locust Street in Ambridge, according to Pittsburgh media citing Ambridge police.

Police responded to the home around 2:30 a.m. for a report of multiple gunshots and found DeLucca and Littles dead inside from multiple gunshot wounds.

The suspect in the shooting, Howard J. Thomas Jr., 39, of Ambridge, was arrested later that morning following a vehicle crash in Zanesville, Ohio.

He faces two counts of criminal homicide amongst other felony charges.

According to her obituary, Walman graduated from Slippery Rock in 2006. She studied cosmetology, but her main passion was being co-owner of DeLucca Glass in Slippery Rock.

“She had a kind heart to help others and she loved animals. Her laugh could light up several rooms at once, and the sound of it will be deeply missed by all, as will she,” the obituary says.

She is survived by her husband, Thomas Walman, of Crafton; parents Christine and Vince DeLucca, and brother Devon DeLucca, of Slippery Rock; and her parents in-law Robert and Meina Walman, of Crafton. She is also survived by numerous aunts and uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Vince and Phyllis Delucca and Louis and Audene Malarkey; and a cousin, Joshua Dibble

There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service for DeLucca Walman at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock on Jan. 31 at noon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the service.

Memorial Contributions may be given to the Butler County Humane Society, 1015 Evans City Road, Renfrew, PA 16053.
