Construction worker hit by driver on Evans City Road

A driver reportedly drove through a construction zone after becoming impatient and hit a construction work who was holding a sign and directing another vehicle Friday, Nov. 7, in Connoquenessing Township, police said.

State police in Butler said the sign holder, Valerie M. Fullum, 35, of New Brighton, sought care at UPMC Passavant Hospital in Cranberry Township for a suspected minor injury. She was hit while working at the intersection of Evans City Road and Brandywine Boulevard.

Police said the impact knocked a sign out of Fullum’s hand as she was hit in the back with the mirror of the vehicle. Police did not immediately identify the driver.
