Lucy Miller, 9, of Zelienople, took third place in the 11-and-under division of the Pittsburgh Great Race 5K on Sunday, Sept. 28, with a time of 23:58.

Lucy just squeaked out her goal of running the race in less than 24 minutes. She said the race was fun, and her time paid off after practicing well before reaching the starting line.

“I’ve been training by running every other morning before school,” Lucy said. “I’m excited to run more 5K races and set and reach more goals.”
