Petapalooza to mark grand opening of Pets In Harmony Veterinary Hospital

Pets in Harmony Veterinary Hospital will celebrate its grand opening with a day full of furry fun and fundraising on Saturday, Aug. 2.

The event will kick off at 9:45 a.m. at 241 Perry Highway with a ribbon-cutting hosted by the Butler County Chamber of Commerce and will be broadcast live by WXED radio.

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., attendees can enjoy hospital tours, a “Dunk the Doctor” tank, an underwater treadmill demonstration, pet salon dog baths, raffles, giveaways and more than 40 vendors, including four food trucks.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the Jackson Township Police Canine Unit, Harmony Dog Rescue and Ivy’s Ark Pet Rescue.

“Raising money through a fun event like Petapalooza means creating an opportunity for the community to come together, celebrate and give back, all at the same time,” said Tawnya Roman, practice manager at the hospital, which first opened in June.

“It transforms the act of donating into something memorable. People are more likely to engage and support animal rescue shelters and pet related services when they can do it in a way that feels rewarding and connected,” she said.

Other highlights will include an “Ask the Doctor” session with hospital owner Dr. Brian Silvis, behavior tips from Upswing Canine Behavioral Services and a nose work demonstration by the Butler Dog Training Association.

The event, Roman said, is designed to support both animals and their caretakers.

“Events like this raise awareness, build relationships and generate real support for the organizations that do life-changing work for animals every day,” she said. “It’s a win for everyone, especially the pets, who benefit the most.”

She thanked the owners of Harmony Castings for offering their parking lot to attendees and added that organizers are still seeking volunteers and donations.
