The Cranberry Elks Lodge 2249 will host its annual Flag Day ceremony at noon Saturday, June 14, at 20720 Route 19 in Cranberry Township.

The event is open to the public, and commemorates the history and enduring symbolism of the American flag.

In addition to the reading of the history of the flag, the Cranberry VFW Color Guard will present the flag and members of the Scouts of America Troop 404 will raise it outside.

Light refreshments will be served following the ceremony.

The Elks was the first fraternal organization to mandate the formal observance of Flag Day and this tradition continues today, according to the lodge.
