The Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company will pause Friday, Sept. 11, to commemorate, reflect and honor the lives lost during the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

A large American flag will be hung from a ladder truck beginning at sunrise Friday. It will remain until sundown at the fire department, located at Route 19.

“Taps” will be played in front of the company’s 9/11 Memorial outside of the fire station at the following times:

– 8:46 a.m., American Flight 11 hits the north tower of the World Trade Center

– 9:03 a.m., United Flight 175 crashes into the south tower

– 9:40 a.m., American Flight 77 crashes into the Pentagon

– 9:59 a.m., the World Trade Center’s south tower collapses

– 10:03 a.m., the hijacked United Flight 93 crashes into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania

– 10:28 a.m., the World Trade Center’s north tower collapses.
