Jackson supervisors meeting draws residents for hearings on developments

Hartman Estates, Londonderry Ridge up for review

JACKSON TWP — At a board of supervisors meeting on Thursday, July 16, around two dozen residents were in attendance for public hearings on two proposed residential developments in the township.

Chris Rearick, Jackson Township manager, said both developments are pending approval from township officials, in early conception phase and months away from breaking ground if OK’d.

The first development, Hartmann Estates, is seeking approval for 56 single-family lots for development on Hartmann Road. Kildare Land Partners is behind the project. The hearing for the project will continue at the board’s Aug. 20 meeting.

For the second development, Londonderry Ridge, Wee Five Development is seeking to construct 108 townhomes and 173 single-family lots along Route 528 and Lindsay Road.

The project was previously denied by supervisors in July 2025. At the time, the number of waivers being requested that would significantly impact local infrastructure were cited. This time, the board voted to tentatively approve Londonderry Ridge at the meeting.

After representatives for the developers presented details and concept renderings, several individuals from the community expressed concerns.

In the case of both developments, impact on current residents’ properties was a point of concern. In the case of Hartmann Estates, concerns over environmental impact were also raised.

Comments on Londonderry ridge resulted in a lengthy discussion between officials, developers and concerned residents.

In other business, officials voted unanimously in favor of Resolution 26-17, which allows consideration or revision, and potential addition of, definitions and regulations, to the township’s zoning ordinance in regard to data centers and large scale solar electric energy facilities.

The township will advertise and hold a public hearing during its Aug. 20 meeting on potential action.

The township will also co-host a joint public hearing on an ordinance establishing the municipal boundary between Jackson and Cranberry townships on Aug. 19 at Cranberry Highlands Golf Course.
