Sikora sworn in as new Seven Fields council member
A familiar face was sworn in as a Seven Fields council member during the monthly meeting on Monday, May 11.
Jennifer Sikora was appointed to fill the vacancy of Morgan Hardesty’s term, which runs through the remainder of this year and next year. She previously served as the council president.
Hardesty resigned in a March letter, which council accepted at an April meeting.
When Sikora discovered the vacancy and learned no one was interested in filling it, she said she decided it was time to step up again.
“I had heard that nobody had applied, so I’m like, ‘wow,’” she said, “I had a background in it and thought it would be an easy fit.”
Sikora realized she had some free time and saw the community was in need.
“I figured it was time to come back, give back to my community, and help where I can,” she said.
After Sikora was sworn in, the board paving contract with Youngblood paving among taking other actions. The meeting concluded with the unanimous approval to appoint Laurel Zabinski to the Seven Fields parks and recreation board.
