PA all-state girls basketball teams announced: Here’s who made it from Mars, Slippery Rock

Two seniors from Mars and Slippery Rock are among those named all-state girls basketball players this week.

The Pennsylvania Sports Writers All-State Girls Basketball Teams were released Tuesday afternoon, with the Planets’ Alexis Cashdollar and Rockets’ Madison Romanovich earning honors.

Cashdollar, a senior guard who averaged 19.5 points, 7.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists this year, was named Class 5A second team. Romanovich, a senior guard who averaged 22.4 points, seven rebounds and four assists this season, was named Class 4A third team.

The Butler Eagle all-county teams were announced Tuesday morning, with Romanovich named the Butler Eagle Girls Basketball Player of the Year after leading the Rockets to a second straight PIAA second-round appearance. Cashdollar, who is committed to Wake Forest as a preferred walk-on, was named to the first team.
