Police: Woman calls from Alabama to report assault in Middlesex Township

A woman called police from Alabama to report an assault over the weekend in Middlesex Township, police said.

Andrew Martin Graf, 41, of Valencia, was charged Saturday, March 28, by Middlesex Township police with felony strangulation and misdemeanor simple assault following an alleged incident Saturday at a Central Drive home.

Police said a woman called the station from Alabama to report the assault. Police said the woman took an Uber to the airport after the assault and flew to Alabama to escape. The woman had called police once previously but did not provide her information due to fear, police said.

The woman told police she came to Pennsylvania to see Graf, but he had been verbally abusive toward her for several weeks leading up to the visit, police said.

The woman said the insults escalated until Graf grabbed her sweatshirt, lifted her off the ground and slammed her into a trash container, police said. He then lifted her again and threw her to the other side of the kitchen.

Police said Graf also began to choke the woman and threw her to the ground. The woman then threw a drink at Graf, which distracted him long enough for her to escape.

Graf’s preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2:30 p.m. April 21 before District Judge Jack Ripper.
