Connoquenessing Valley Elementary principal Jeremy Womer was recognized as a Distinguished Young Alumnus by Clarion University of Pennsylvania at its 60th annual Alumni Association Distinguished Awards.

The Distinguished Young Alumnus award recognizes graduates who have achieved significant professional accomplishments and demonstrated meaningful service to their communities early in their careers, according to a news release from Seneca Valley.

Womer began his career in Wood County Schools in West Virginia before joining Seneca Valley School District in 2017. During his time with the district, he has served as assistant principal and acting principal at Haine Elementary School, acting assistant principal at Rowan Elementary School, and assistant principal at Haine Middle School. He was also a fourth-grade teacher at Haine Elementary.

“I am honored and grateful to receive the Distinguished Young Alumnus award for Clarion University,” Womer said. “Beyond the lessons that continue to guide me, the experiences, connections and lifelong relationships have helped me to where I am now.”

As assistant principal, Womer helped guide the district’s Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports initiative and Multi-Tiered System of Support initiative. He earned statewide recognition when he was named Pennsylvania’s National Outstanding Assistant Principal for 2025 by the PA Principals Association, representing the state at the NAESP National Conference on School Leadership.

Womer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education. He played for the baseball team at Clarion University, before attending California University of Pennsylvania to obtain his Master of Education degree.
