Cranberry resident marks 100th birthday

A Cranberry resident has reached the century mark.

Louise Attanucci turned 100 years old Thursday, Feb. 19. Attanucci, originally from Pittsburgh’s Beechview neighborhood, currently lives in Cranberry with her daughter, Janet.

She was born Feb. 19, 1926, in Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Attanucci and her late husband, Charles, had four children: John, Vince, Janet and Patti.

When she wasn’t taking care of others, she enjoyed bowling, bocci, swimming and volunteering at church. Now she enjoys reading, watching TV and sharing her day with her family and dog, Mabel.

The event is being celebrated with a Friday, Feb. 20, surprise open house for family and friends from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 205 Jacob’s Court, and a Sunday, Feb. 21, family dinner at 6 p.m. at Mia Madre’s Trattoria in Avalon.
