Seven Fields Council moves to redesign borough website

During a meeting on Monday, Feb. 9, Seven Fields Borough Council approved a fresh look for the borough’s website.

While officials had four options to choose from, they opted to stick with their current provider, CivicPlus, with some new add-ons and modifications.

The annual cost of the new service will be $4,625.

“We just wanted to add additional amenities to the webpage,” said borough manager Tom Smith. “It’s going to provide the ability to do a lot more online like make reservations to the community center and reserve the baseball field — things like that. Plus, we wanted to refresh what it looks like.”

Another option included one from Course Vector that came with an initial setup fee of $4,558 and a yearly maintenance fee of $1,239.

Cunningham Media offered a site that would’ve charged Seven Fields $12,500 for an initial setup and then $1,500 for yearly maintenance and modifications.

The final option was Krakoff Communications, which came with an initial setup fee of $48,000, the most expensive option.

The borough’s redesigned website will include tools for advanced page editing, an agenda center, alert center, calendar, graphic links, form center, news flashes, notifications (NotifyMe), quick links and a staff directory.

Smith noted the modules will allow the borough to add to the website over time.

Smith also said officials left open the possibility of adding an activities module later for an additional yearly cost of $350. According to borough officials, that option would provide a more efficient way for residents to register online for activities.
