South College clears new enrollment milestone in education programs
South College announced Tuesday it has surpassed the 2,000-student mark in its competency-based education programs and is expanding its nursing offerings with two new doctor of nursing practice (post-master’s) concentrations in executive leadership and nursing education.
The milestone comes about a year after the CBE initiative reached 1,000 students.
The format allows students, many of whom are working professionals, to advance by demonstrating mastery of material at their own pace, rather than on a traditional class schedule.
Earlier this year, South College introduced its post-master’s program through the same format, which was approved by the Tennessee Board of Nursing.
Beyond nursing, the college also offers CBE programs at the master’s, doctoral and certificate levels in areas such as business, technology, education, legal studies, ministry and computer science.
