Southwestern Butler municipalities elect leadership for new year

Seven Fields Council retained its top leaders from last year, while welcoming a new member to the governing body during its mandatory reorganization meeting on Monday.

Council President Kim Regan-Koch and Vice President Dawn Servello both will continue in their roles for 2026. Russ Zangrilli was appointed president pro tempore, a role that enables him to preside over meetings in the president’s absence.

The council also swore in Dean Galitsis as its newest member. He replaces former councilman Jeff Smouse, whose term expired.

Meanwhile, Kevin Caridad is the borough’s new mayor.

Jackson Township

Jackson Township also kept its leadership in place by reelecting Jay Grinnell as board chairman and Allan Osterwise as vice chairman.

Officials also swore in new supervisor, Chris Arnold, who began a six-year term after narrowly defeating incumbent Marianne Hall in the November election.

Lancaster Township

Lancaster Township did not make any changes to its board of supervisors. Greg Kessler was reelected as chairman, while Rich Marcotte retained his position as vice chairman.

The township also swore in longtime resident Mike Doban for a six-year term after he decisively won the Republican primary last May and the ensuing November election.

Evans City

Evans City once again appointed its top two leaders from 2025, reelecting Cheri Deener as council president and selecting Brad Rubinosky to serve as vice president. It will be Deener’s 10th straight year leading the borough and 22nd overall.

Mark Widdersheim was chosen as the president pro tempore.

Harmony

Harmony’s top two leaders will remain the same in 2026, with Greg Such being reelected as council president and Don Sims keeping his role as vice president.

Joe Dippold was appointed as president pro tempore. Beth Bruker Walo was sworn in as the council’s newest member.
