Weekend gas line work planned for Franklin Road in Cranberry
The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation is advising motorists of weekend traffic impacts related to a gas line relocation project on Franklin Road as part of the ongoing Franklin Road Corridor Safety Improvement Project.
Flagging with single-lane closures is scheduled from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 20 and 21 along Franklin Road between the Route 228 and Hillmont Drive intersections.
The work will be weather dependent.
The gas line relocation is part of a broader safety improvement project that includes shoulder widening, installation of edge-line rumble strips and sight-distance enhancements along the corridor.
The four-year project carries a price tag of $19.1 million and is currently slated for completion in early November 2027.
