The Mars Borough Police Department is collecting toys through Monday, Dec. 8, for its fifth annual Toys for Tots toy drive.

Chief Mark Lint said after toy collection, the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation will stop by the station Tuesday to collect the new, unwrapped toys and distribute them on Christmas.

“Our community has always been incredibly generous,” Lint said. “Every toy donated brings joy to a child and strengthens our shared spirit of giving.”

He added the Mars public works department will donate a vehicle Monday for police to travel around the borough and collect toys from businesses.

The police department will also host a “Stuff-a-Cruiser” event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, to advocate for toy donation. The event will be held at the Mars spaceship at Pittsburgh Street and Grand Avenue.

“We’re proud to partner with Toys for Tots again this year, and we’re grateful for the continued support from Mars area residents and businesses,” Lint said.
