Their high school careers are over, but they haven’t stopped receiving accolades just yet.

Mars seniors Cecilia Christy and Rylee Wooldridge and North Catholic senior Camdynn Gonzalez were named Wednesday to the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association All-State Teams. Christy and Wooldridge were selected in Class 3A, Gonzalez in 4A.

They are fitting awards for three players who have powered their respective teams to WPIAL and state playoff success in recent years.

“We’re excited for the well-deserved recognition that both Rylee and Cece have received,” Mars coach Tami Caraway said via text. “They both are wonderful leaders, talented players and have worked incredibly hard throughout this season.”

Christy, a 6-foot middle hitter heading to Elon next year who is also the reigning Butler Eagle Player of the Year, was also named all-state last year.

She had 320 kills, 63 blocks and a .454 hitting percentage, according to Caraway. Christy graduates with the program career records for kills (710), hitting percentage (.450) and blocks (170).

Wooldridge, a first time all-state pick, was equally valuable this season as the Planets made the WPIAL Class 3A tournament semifinals, finishing third, and the PIAA tournament second round a year after they won the district title and made the state final.

A 5-10 outside hitter with college interest, she had 367 kills, 4.32 kills per set, 36 aces and 247 digs. Her kills, KPS and aces were single-season program records. She graduates with 668 career kills (second in school history), 106 aces (third), 516 digs (fourth) and is atop the record book in other offensive categories.

Gonzalez, a 5-7 setter also named all-state for the first time, led the Trojanettes to the WPIAL semifinals, finishing a win shy of making the state playoffs once again.

North made the WPIAL final and state tournament last year in their first season playing up in Class 4A.
