Both locations of UPMC Passavant, in Pittsburgh and Cranberry Township, received an “A” rating for safety from the Leapfrog Group in its Fall 2025 Hospital Safety Grade program.
The Leapfrog Group, which administers the Hospital Safety Grade program, is a nonprofit watchdog group dedicated to improving transparency around hospital and health care safety data. An “A” grade is the highest grade attainable for a hospital in the program.
Hospitals are graded on their ability to prevent avoidable errors such as in-hospital infections and surgical mishaps. Both UPMC Passavant Cranberry and Passavant McCandless received an “A” grade.
