About three dozen volunteers, including Boy Scouts from Troop 58 in Middlesex Township, helped plant trees and shrubs in Clinton Township’s Spring Valley Park on Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010.
The trees and shrubs — including maple, dogwood, oak and poplars — were given to the park by Westinghouse Electric Co. in Cranberry Township. Equipment was donated to the effort and the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Department set up a water buffalo to water the trees.
Friends of Spring Valley Park helped organize the one-day volunteer event.
