JACKSON TWP — Despite this being the finale campaign that will not end in the playoffs, the postgame atmosphere Friday night at NexTier Stadium felt as though Seneca Valley had won a championship.

While they hadn’t, what the Raiders had done was pull off a 21-18 upset over playoff-bound arch-rival North Allegheny, which had already locked up a WPIAL playoff spot.

“These seniors poured their hearts out,” Raiders head coach and former Green Bay Packers offensive lineman Don Barclay said. “I told them it’s their last go-around. This group of seniors set the foundation and they’re paving the way for a bunch of success around here.”

The game-sealing points came on a dramatic 48-yard interception return by linebacker Danny Drennan midway through the fourth quarter which made the score 21-10. The Raiders end the season 4-6 (2-4 WPIAL Section 1-6A).

“I think you can see the culture changing here,” Barclay said. “With this being my first year, we tried to implement a lot of different things, but I think you could see the attitude and the willingness to put in the work. And I think it just grows from here.”

Early on, it looked as though North Allegheny was destined for an easy win.

The offense, led by running back Luke Rohan and quarterback Brady Brinkley, cruised 66 yards down the field on the opening drive capped by a 6-yard touchdown run by Rohan.

After a quick Seneca Valley punt, the Tigers drove into Seneca Valley’s red zone for a second time. However, a sack on Brinkley led to a fumble which was recovered by Raiders running back and linebacker Cayden Parker.

Parker turned out to be the star of the game on both sides of the ball. In addition to his game-changing fumble recovery, he ran for 104 yards on 22 carries and caught one touchdown.

“We haven’t beaten (North Allegheny) in years past, so it really felt good to avenge ourselves and beat them,” said Parker, a senior who played his last high school football game. “We really felt like this game could turn it around, and we got the win. We feel like it’s nothing but up from here on out.”

Both teams spent most of the first half trading punts, until Seneca Valley’s offense came to life with a five-play, 77-yard drive. Quarterback Andrew Loebig ran for 57 yards on the drive and capped it with a 2-yard touchdown run. The extra-point attempt by Max Eisenhut was blocked.

The Raiders picked up right where they left off at the start of the second half with an 87-yard drive capped off by a 15-yard touchdown pass from Loebig to Parker, giving the Raiders their first lead of the game, 14-7.

The Tigers kicked a field goal to get within 14-10. Then, down 21-10, Brinkley drove NA 88 yards for a TD and two-point conversion to get within three.

Seneca Valley ran out the clock on a long Parker run and Tigers penalty.

“There was no sense of panic at all,” Parker said. “We knew we had it in the bag because we knew they couldn’t stop us on offense. We just had to burn as much clock as possible.”

NFL Films at Seneca Valley

Signs were on display at Seneca Valley’s NexTier Stadium announcing NFL Films was recording footage and audio of the game.

While the Steelers are hosting the Packers on NBC’s Sunday Night Football, Raiders athletic director Heather Lewis said the camera crew’s presence was not for use during that broadcast.

Lewis declined to say what NFL Films was at Seneca Valley for. The 2026 NFL Draft will be held in Pittsburgh for the first time since 1948-49.
