A 29-year-old Pittsburgh activist is accused leading police on a high-speed chase into Pittsburgh after vandalizing a Cranberry Township home.

According to police, Shawn Lateff Green — who also goes by Lorenzo Rulli — fled police after he was stopped in the area of Route 19 and Cranberry Square Drive following a report that he vandalized a residence on England Road.

Green was charged Sunday, Sept. 23, with felony fleeing police and one misdemeanor count each of stalking, loitering, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and possession of an instrument of a crime following the Sunday incident which began in Cranberry Township and continued into Pittsburgh.

Police said they were dispatched around 4:20 a.m. to a residence on England Road for reports of a man spray painting a residence. The caller was able to identify Green to the operator, according to the affidavit.

When police arrived, they saw a Toyota Camry leaving the scene at high speeds. Police then initiated a traffic stop, and the vehicle came to a stop in the area of Route 19 and Cranberry Square Drive, according to the affidavit.

Police said Green refused commands to shut off and exit the vehicle, and then put his vehicle in drive, accelerating at high speeds down Route 19 and turning on Dutilh Road.

Police said Green proceeded east driving the wrong direction down Route 228 before driving over the median and entering the I-79 southbound entrance ramp.

While being pursued, police said Green called 911 and threatened to kill the police pursuing him and the dispatcher on the phone.

Green continued south on I-79 and was pursued to his residence in Pittsburgh. Police said Green refused commands to exit the residence.

During the chase, Green began livestreaming the events to his Facebook page. A second video was also posted showing officers outside his residence.

“This is stupid,” he said in one video named “I’m on a high speed chase I’m not goin to jail alive.”

“I swear to God, I called 911, and I said, ‘Hey my name’s Lorenzo Rulli. I am a state activist, I’m not going on the run, I’m just not pulling over on the side of the highway, bro,” he said in the video. “Like I don’t even know what to do.”

A second video is labeled, “Police at my house. Y’all I have not been okay for months.”

Police later spoke with the caller who said they had been in a relationship with Green for about a month. The caller told police they awoke to noises outside the rear of the residence and found Green by the front door.

Police said multiple expletives had been spray painted along the front of the residence.

Green is being held in Butler County Prison on a $10,000 bail. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10 a.m. Oct. 3 before District Judge Kevin Flaherty.
