Cranberry Township to host annual 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony
Cranberry Township will mark the 24th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks with its annual remembrance ceremony Sept. 11 at the Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company.
The event is open to the public and will begin around 8:30 a.m. It will include community speakers, a time for reflection and taps will be sounded at the exact times of the attacks as a solemn tribute.
The American flag will be displayed over Route 19 from sunrise to sunset. Members of Scouting America will retire the colors at sunset, around 7:10 p.m.
The memorial, dedicated in 2012, honors the lives lost, those who responded and the unity shown in the wake of the tragedy.
