VA Butler Healthcare to receive improvements

VA Butler Healthcare in Butler Township is getting facility and technology improvements as part of $800 million in maintenance funding from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

The upgrades include a new master control panel in Building 7, new roofs on Buildings 5 and 46, a new nurse call system in the community living center and upgrades to the electronic health record modernization infrastructure.

The department said it is realigning $800 million as part of the Veterans Health Administration’s nonrecurring maintenance program, which makes infrastructure improvements to health care facilities to ensure safe and effective patient care.

The additional funds will come from savings from various VHA reform efforts. The additions will bring total nonrecurring maintenance program spending for fiscal year 2025 to $2.8 billion, a nearly $500 million increase from fiscal year 2024.
