Cranberry Township is seeking 10 contestants for its first 16066 BBQ Bash Rib Cook-Off, which is set for Sept. 20, on the Armstrong Great Lawn at the township’s municipal center, 2525 Rochester Road. The event will be held rain or shine.

Participants can sign up individually or as a team with selections to be notified by Aug. 29. The township will provide one rack of ribs, seating, an apron, a yard sign and electricity access. Contestants must bring their own 10-foot-by-10-foot pop-up tent, all cooking equipment and any other supplies.

A panel of judges will score ribs based on presentation, tenderness, taste and originality. Prizes will be awarded to the top three participants, and all competitors will be recognized at the event and on the township’s social media.
